We enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Corning. Excellent location near the Corning Museum of Glass and within walking distance of the vibrant downtown. Lovely staff -- always upbeat and helpful. But beware room 433. It is plagued by a disruptingly noisy air system, so much so that one of our party had to change rooms. We were cheerfully told the hotel receives many complaints about that room. Yet, during our three-night stay, the fan continued to blast away without any visible attempt to fix it. Curious.

Very nice, clean hotel for an overnight stopover. The staff were very friendly and helpful. While we didn't use the restaurant or bar, the dining area also looked clean and inviting. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in Corning.

What a nice gem for a great price. We stayed in this hotel with kids for 2nights and we absolutely enjoyed our stay. The rooms were spacious and clean. The room had a huge window overlooking the lake and beautiful Mountain View. Hotels is walkable distance to downtown and Corning factory. It’s a great place for few days of unwinding. As Hilton members, we received complimentary breakfast which not too impressive which is why I am taking a star away and I think it can be improved.

Great Hotel Beautiful Views We went down to Corning for a weekend away and to go to the Glass Museum. The Hilton is a a great location, spotlessly clean and the staff is ready to help with everything from check in to a suggestion as to where to have dinner.

Clean and convenient, but not much else

"Clean and convenient" should not be taken as a recommendation, this was the worst hotel stay in recent memory. We were off to a bad start with digital checkin. The checkin was "successful" but I never did get the digital key in the app, even after asking at the desk, restarting the app, restarting my phone, getting on the hotel Wi-Fi, etc. It was just hopeless. The room -- like most hotel rooms -- was dark. Poorly placed and inadequate lamps didn't dispel the gloom. One of two reading lights by the bed was broken. Speaking of the bed, it was ridiculously high. This is a stupid design trend I don't understand at all. The top of the mattress should be chair height. There is no other reasonable alternative. Here, the foundation and mattress were that tall then they were placed on a platform approximately 8" high. At 6' tall, I couldn't sit on the edge but I could get in. At just over 5' my wife couldn't get in without help! Why?! The TV didn't work. The channel guide button on the remote flashed to an empty table of program options then returned to the picture of a typical room. On the the desk where were two outlets and a USB charging port. One of the badly placed lamps was plugged into one of the outlets leaving just one for plugging in your computer or charger or whatever. (Why would you need your own charger next to a USB port? Because public USB is a security threat for your digital devices. Never use them! The hotel shouldn't provide them.) In the bathroom, there were multiple problems. Least of all a towel hook located where it couldn't be used. The water is so soft that not only does it feel like you are showering in vegetable oil but the bottom of the shower gets slippery enough that I nearly fell down. And there's no handle on the inside of the shower door so getting out is an issue. (Those are common problems. In our specific room the shower head dripped onto a metal drain cover causing a constant ping throughout the shower. While I frequently encounter shower heads that are too low, this was so high that I couldn't reach it to try to adjust and fix the drip.) It's a shame that so many problems here are built into the structure and fixtures because no amount of good management can overcome them. The staff was courteous and attentive (and I mentioned they kept the place clean) but I would stay somewhere else if I went back to Corning.
